How to take Linzess

Your pharmacist will provide you with instructions on how to take Linzess. The typical starting dose for adults with IBS is 290 mcg orally, once daily. Adults with chronic idiopathic constipation (CIC) may start with an initial dose of 145 mcg orally, once daily.

Linzess should be taken by mouth as directed by your doctor, typically once daily on an empty stomach, at least 30 minutes before your first meal. If you cannot swallow Linzess capsules whole, you can open the capsule and mix the contents with a teaspoon of applesauce or mix the contents into water.

If you miss a dose of Linzess, skip the missed dose and take the next dose at your regular dosing schedule.

What to avoid while taking Linzess
