About Humulin N
Humulin N is considered intermediate-acting insulin, which functions by helping to keep your blood sugar levels from getting too high blood sugar after you eat. Like any insulin, this medication can only be used to manage diabetes. It is ineffective against any other condition because it will not reduce blood sugar levels in people who do not have diabetes mellitus.

How to take Humulin N

Be sure to clean the injection site with rubbing alcohol before each insulin dose. Changing where you inject each time is important to lessen the risk of problems or damage under the skin. Inject the insulin into the upper arm, stomach area or the thigh, changing the injection site every time.
The insulin should be clear and colorless. Do not inject the Humulin N if it is discolored or contains particles.
Remember not to share your pen device with another person, even if the needle is changed.
What to avoid while taking Humulin N
Humulin N has four drug interactions. Don't change what you take without checking with your doctor or pharmacist. That includes other medications or supplements, as well as over-the-counter drugs.

What happens if I take too much Humulin N?
If you take too much insulin dose, your blood sugar could drop too low. This could lead to dizziness, blurred vision, shakiness, sweating, confusion, and loss of consciousness.
