What is Sotyktu® used for?

Sotyktu® is primarily used to treat moderate to severe plaque psoriasis in adults. When a person has plaque psoriasis, their immune system attacks healthy skin cells, which causes the skin to become inflamed and the body to create too many skin cells.3 When this occurs, patches of itchy, thickened, discolored skin—known as plaques—can form all over the body.3 Plaque psoriasis flare-ups are often brought about by a variety of triggers including sunburn, dry skin, smoking, alcohol consumption, stress, and skin injuries.3

While topical creams and light therapy are often sufficient treatments for plaque psoriasis, some people may require medications to manage symptoms.3 Sotyktu® is FDA-approved and proven to be effective in treating plaque psoriasis compared to placebo and competitors.2

Side effects of Sotyktu®

Most side effects associated with taking Sotyktu® are mild; in two clinical trials, only 2.4% of patients prescribed Sotyktu® had to stop taking the medication because of adverse reactions.2

If you are taking Sotyktu® (deucravacitinib) and experience any uncomfortable or side effects, you should contact your doctor as soon as possible. In case of an allergic reaction or emergency, dial 911.

  • Cancer: Some people who have taken Sotyktu® have developed lymphoma, but the link between Sotyktu® and cancer is not yet unconfirmed.
