MIEBO® eye drops prescription available online

MIEBO® (perfluorohexyloctane ophthalmic solution) is a prescription medication that comes in the form of eye drops.¹ MIEBO® is an FDA-approved eye drop that is typically prescribed to adults to manage dry eye disease (DED).^{1, 2} The recommended dosage of MIEBO® is one drop in each eye four times daily.² 

^{How do MIEBO® eye drops work?}

MIEBO® eye drops create a protective layer on the eye’s surface, slowing the evaporation of natural tears. ¹ ² This helps keep the eyes moisturized and reduces discomfort caused by dryness. 

MIEBO® specifically targets meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD), a common cause of dry eye disease. ³ These glands, located in the eyelids, produce an oil that prevents tears from evaporating too quickly. When they do not function properly, eyes become dry and irritated. By stabilizing the tear film, MIEBO® helps alleviate symptoms associated with MGD. ⁴ 

The typical dosage is one drop of MIEBO® in each affected eye four times daily.² People prescribed MIEBO® eye drops should instill the appropriate dosage in each eye by turning the bottle upside down above the eye and gently squeezing it until one drop is released.²

If you wear contact lenses, you should remove them before using MIEBO® eye drops and only reinsert them 30 minutes after your dose.²
